Terry D. Schmidt, O.D.

Meet the experienced and friendly eye doctors who make Vision Source Mandan the leading provider of vision care products and services in Mandan.


Dr. Terry Schmidt was born and raised in Mandan and returned home to join Vision Source Mandan in 1984. He attended North Dakota State University from 1976 to 1979 where he was enrolled in the Pharmacy Program. Dr. Schmidt went on to graduate from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1984. He likes to be involved in the community and is a past Exalted Ruler of the Mandan Elks and a current member; as well as a Past President of the Mandan Optimist Club. Dr. Schmidt is also a member of the North Dakota Optometric Association (NDOA) and the American Optometric Association (AOA).  He is married to his wife, Lori, and they have three children: Ben, Alex and Carly. Dr. Schmidt enjoys traveling and hunting, and spending time on their pontoon on the river.

Dr. Schmidt retired from patient care in May 2021. CONGRATULATIONS!
